Run to God
When we run into problems, God needs to be the first thing that we run to. Not Media. Not food. Not shopping. Not friends. Whatever it is that you find yourself running to instead of God. Those are the easy way out. I want the narrow path with Jesus, not the wide and easy that only ends in destruction. If we run to Jesus first, we can avoid all of the negative moods and feelings that ensue without Him. He holds the answer to all of our problems. Don't waste your time on the things of this world. There is nothing to gain in them. Instead, all of our hope and trust needs to be in our awesome Creator. This is an easy thing to forget. We run into problems daily. Usually, they are so little that we don't even think about including God in them. But He cares about even the smallest of things. Take everything to the Lord.

What are you going to do?
One thing I need to do in order to prevent myself from deviating from the path is to read my Bible more. Over the summer I have really struggled with picking it up and immersing myself in it's truth. I should not expect to grow without knowing how I am supposed to be walking. To do that, I must know my Creator and get to know Him more every day. After all, to be a path walker is to hear God's teachings and OBEY. This is done through constant prayer with the Father and through the reading of His Word.
Another important attribute of a path walker is contentment. This is something that I am constantly working on. There has been progress, but like all other things, there is still a ways to go yet. I need to learn to be content with my present circumstances. God has me right where He wants me. Now the next step is to accept that and, in the words of Gandalf, "Decide what to do with the time that is given to me." There are plenty of opportunities right in front of me. Why do I feel the need to ask for more? How selfish is that? Instead of asking for more and something different, I need to take what God has given me and use it for His glory and work at it to the best of my abilities. Why would God give me more if I am not faithful with what He has already given me? Much like the parable of the ten minas in Luke 19:11-27, only when I have been faithful with what He has given me will He bless me with more. Once we have learned to be content in our present circumstances, only then can we take each moment and live them entirely for God. Stop wishing for more or different circumstances. Take what God has given you and use it for His glory.
"I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what is is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want." - Philippians 4:11-12

Path to Life
You may be wondering what "The Narrow Path" means. Excellent question. The Narrow Path is what we, as disciples of Christ, are called to walk on daily. This is the path that leads to life. If you want life, you have to go through the narrow gate, which is Jesus Christ. John 14:6 says, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." So how do we walk this narrow path that leads to life? By discipling ourselves after Jesus: OBEY HIM! We must deny ourselves and carry our cross. This is why so few people are on this road. Many people choose the broad path, which is ignoring Jesus' teachings, doing whatever you want, and living for self. This path only leads to ruin and destruction. The narrow path is hard, but the reward is life and spending eternity with our Father in Heaven.
This blog is dedicated to my journey on the Narrow Path. There will be ups and downs, struggles and triumphs, but I am determined to walk this path to life. "I can do everything through him who gives me strength." - Philippians 4:13 It is not an easy path to walk, but with Christ on my side, I cannot fail!
